What can you do to improve your physical health?
Did you know that increasing your physical activity can lead to major health benefits? Building muscle and maintaining a healthy weight can allow you to continue being able to perform physical activities, such as pushing a vacuum cleaner, playing golf or climbing a flight of stairs.

Talk With Your Doctor
Talk to your doctor or health care provider about your level of exercise or physical activity. Some things your doctor may suggest include:
- That you use a cane or walker
- That you do an exercise or physical therapy program
- Talk to you about pain that you may experience with physical activity

Do Strength and Balance Exercises
Do exercises that make your legs stronger and improve your balance. Tai Chi is a good example of this kind of exercise.
As a reminder, your plan includes an annual fitness membership at no cost to you. To get your fitness membership, go into any of the Denver Parks and Recreation centers and provide them with a copy of your health plan ID and a photo ID.
