Personal Support Every Step of the Way

Starting your journey with hormone therapy or gender-affirming surgery means first visiting your primary care provider, who is familiar with your medical history and knows you personally. Denver Health’s LGBTQ+ Health Services provides open and affirming health care to LGBTQ+ communities.

We have trained medical providers at our 10 community health centers and on Denver Health’s main campus, who can provide the medical assistance you need, including patient navigation, help with updating gender identification on your credentials, behavioral health and general primary care.

Connecting With a Care Team

When you’re ready to pick a primary care provider or specialist, connect with a Denver Health patient navigator at LGBTQ+ Health Services by calling 303-602-5699. Our patient navigators are committed to guiding our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and nonbinary patients through their health care journeys, ensuring access to caring and supportive medical providers for all of their health needs.

Your primary care provider may introduce you to specialists and other health care professionals familiar with the unique challenges of transitioning. Care teams collaborate to provide medical, psychological and emotional support throughout the process.
