Urgent Mail Order Request Procedure

If you have an urgent need to fill your prescription through mail/delivery service, the pharmacy is required to give you a choice of the following:

  • Transfer the prescription to a network retail pharmacy of your preference, or
  • Provide a rush shipment of the medication

If you request the rush shipment and do not receive the medication as expected, then the pharmacy will transfer the prescription to a network retail pharmacy of your choosing for urgent dispensing.

If the mail order or retail pharmacy receives a claim rejection at the point-of-sale, they can call MedImpact’s pharmacy help desk for assistance. Client customer service notes will direct the MedImpact pharmacy help desk on how to properly handle the denied claim.
